Domain 8: Materials and Electronics

The objective of the ITP domain 8 is the development of low TRL relevant technologies, or with potential relevance, dedicated to future guided weapons systems. These developments are to be accomplished within the framework of a co-operation between the United Kingdom and France.  The domain 8 corresponding research work is divided into two disciplines, Materials, and Electronics,, each of which considers a very wide spectrum of technologies.

Topics considered within the materials sub-domain include:

  • New composite materials (refractory, advanced ceramics).
  • Polymers composites.
  • Smart materials, nano-materials.
  • Smart control and morphing, sensing and control actuation.
  • Smart morphing composites.
  • Low observable materials.
  • Fragmentable materials for covers.
  • Simulation and modelling techniques.
